ICJ: 35 UN Member States have filed written statements on advisory opinion about Kosovo’s Independence
International Court of Justice (ICJ) announced that 35 United Nations Member Sates have filed written statements on the advisory opinion about the Declaration of Independence by the Government of Kosovo. The texts of the written statements and of the written contribution are confidential at this stage of the proceedings.
Among the countries that have filed written statements, 21 have recognized and 14 including Serbia have not recognized the Independence of Kosovo.
Countries that have recognized Kosovo (21): Albania, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, Latvia, Maldives, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America.
Countries that have not recognized Kosovo (14): Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Cyprus, Egypt, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Iran.
The decision about the advisory opinion is expected to be made sometime in the middle of next year.

Since this is a purely political question (wrapped in a “nice” legalistic-sounding wrapper), and seeing the rapport of countries for or against, the court may just decide to declare itself as not being competent to answer a political question.

hey people forget it, Iran at the near future will never recognise Kosovo as an independent nation, you know the bad relationship between USA and Iran, and Iran know exacly that albanian have a good relationship with USA, but we hope that states as Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Oman, Jordan, who has a geographical position in Arabic Peninsula, will recognise Kosovo, as Saudi Arabia and EBA which recognise Kosovo, step by step, and we will be winner on the advisory opinion about the Decleration of Independence. I’m sure.

Is it not quite remarkable, look at the countries that oppose the Kosova Republic ( NOT THAT IT REALY MATTERS ) Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Cyprus, Egypt, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Iran.
All these countries have one thing in common (most of them were and are still communist countries and hate America-England and all other democratic countries ) and the rest not that they have anything against Albanians(Kosova) but they are just easily manipulated by the Serbian-Russian ways.
And what is very interesting is that the China that is making progress with USA and Egypt(that thanks to ALBANIANS that ruled them( Egypt) for centuries and gave them what they have today)are among the Countries that are against us.
It is going to be a interesting GAME (which we are going to win anyway).

Guys why you all jump to Iran? Iran has good relationship with Russia. Russia is our main enemy. Why bother talking about Iran? We have USA and also most of the EU members. Don’t forget Canada, Australia, Japan and many other nations that we want them to accept us. Who cares about Iran? I’m not going to buy or sell things to Iran. The most important countries are USA/UK/CANADA/AUSTRALIA/Also some of the EU members like Germany, France, Italy, Turkey etc. Very soon many countries from Africa and Asia will accept us so that we can fill up the number in order to be a UN member.
God bless USA, God bless UK, God Bless Canada,Australia,Germany,France,Italy,Turkey, Japan and also all the rest who accepted us as a state.
I’m very happy that Macedonia and Montenegro accepted us. It’s very important that our neighbours accept us. Of course I don’t care about Serbia.
What we need now is to work hard and make Kosova become the second Switzerland in Europe. I hope we make this very soon so that we can have a better life.

doesn’t really matter what the ICJ says. Kosovo has its own millitary and will never allow serbia to enter Kosovo again. Let alone the NATO forces who aint going anywhere. It will eventually be in serbias interests to recognize Kosovo.

Well i am sure ICJ will lean towards independence of Kosova and they will announce that Kosova had the right to declare independence. They will find the truth that serbia ocupated Kosova and they oppressed , killed , masacred , albanian civilans , i dont really understand what and why an ocuaptor-(serbia) is looking for in a court .
The only thing serbia can win from the ICJ is time .
Kosova is independent and will remain independent forever .
